About the Author

Luis Tijerina is a native of Odessa, Texas. He started working in the field of computer technology right after graduating from high school. He opened an IT services business a few years later before he decided to work as a communications manager for an oil well services company. He married at the age of twenty-five and raised two children.

While his life took a turn for the worse using drugs and alcohol Luis turned to his roots for answers. From a ceremony called the Vision Quest he found direction on the Red Road and Sun Dancing. After several years of Sundancing he became the chief of the tribe in Trans-Pecos Region of Texas in 2005 and still is in that capacity today.

Over the years Luis has diminished his activities and does not conduct sweats as health and age have become a deterrent keeping him from partaking in this ceremony. Although, he does still perform other ceremonies when asked.
